Sunset Concert Series Continues
Good tunes, great sunset views and spicy shellfish are coming together at Lakeshore Park this spring, courtesy of a new neighborhood music series announced this week by the Barnett Reservoir Foundation.
The Sunset Concert Series, sponsored by The Crawfish King of Flowood, continues with shows scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., on the park’s main point on the east side of the lake.
“It is the ideal place to view the gorgeous sunsets that The Rez is known for,” said series coordinator Jeff Roberts of the Foundation, a private non-profit organization that supports the Barnett Reservoir Community. “We think this is an ideal way to give our residents more of a neighborhood or community feel, and of course a new way for visitors to enjoy the lake.”
The Crawfish King plans to sell boiled crawfish and shrimp at each of the events. The Foundation will sell beer, soft drinks and water.
Concerts will be held every other Thursday night.
Chris Gill will headline on May 4, and artists will be for May 18 Barry Leach & Andrew Pates and June 1 will be Lisa Mills check out the website at barnettreservoirfoundation.org.
Admission is $5 per vehicle,
with no charge for vehicles with “Rez Tags,” and $1 for walk-ins or bicycles. No outside coolers will be allowed.
“We are also offering a $20 Patron Sponsorship for those interested in show support for the Foundation and for the series,” Roberts said. “Their families will be admitted free.”
No outside food or drinks will be allowed in to the park for the Concert Series, and guests are urged to bring chairs or blankets to the events.... More >><< Less
