The Community House Dance Academy’s presentation of The Nutcracker will take place at
1
p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, December 17 at The Community House, 380 South Bates
Street, Birmingham, MI.
This
is a child-friendly rendition of the Nutcracker, presented by The Community
House Dance Academy as well as several area dance studios. The performances
will be held in The Community House Ballroom.
The
Nutcracker features the classic tale of young Clara (danced by Grace Buekers of
Bloomfield Hills Middle School). Her favorite Christmas toy, the Nutcracker
(danced by Joelle Lawor of Bloomfield Hills Middle School), comes alive and,
after defeating the evil Mouse King in battle, whisks her away thorough the
Land of Snow and Ice to the magical Kingdom of Sweets. More than 25 youth
dancers and guests from southeast Michigan will join together to dance in this
holiday favorite.
“The Nutcracker is a timeless holiday tradition; not just for dancers but for every member of the community,” said Lauren Vidak, Programs and Enrichment Manager for The Community House. “We are so proud to be bringing the production back to the wonderful Wallace Ballroom at The Community House and to have the opportunity to work with many talented young dancers from studios all over the area. We can’t wait to welcome in the holidays with this beautiful ballet.”
