Literacy and Your Child's Success
The evidence is consistent, positive and convincing: Families have a major influence on their children's achievement. When schools, families and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more.

Breakfast of Champions with Joyce Jenereaux
Oakland County, MI –With the world whirling at warped speed most days, how does a leader keep up and stay relevant? Reinvention is the key word when it comes to personal and business success. Perhaps no one knows that challenge better than Joyce Jenereaux, former publisher and president of the Detroit Free Press and Michigan.com. She will be the speaker at the Leadership Oakland Breakfast of Champions.
Joyce successfully navigated the digital revolution to transform the traditional newspaper to meet the needs of today’s hyper-connected society. Recently retired and on to new ventures, she’ll share the leadership and business lessons she learned along the way. Joyce will also talk about how reinvention is shaping this next phase of her life.
The breakfast will be held on Tuesday, April 4 at the MSU Management Education Center, 811 W. Square Lake Road in Troy, MI. The breakfast series has built a reputation for solid content, engaging speakers, excellent networking, and a tasty breakfast. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. and Joyce Jenereaux will speak at 8:00 a.m. The cost is $36 for the general public and $32 for Leadership Oakland Alumni Association members. Registration is available online at http://www.leadershipoakland.com/breakfast-of-champions/ or by contacting Carol Dendler at 248.952.6880.
