musical performance by Frank Nanna and The WW Tunes at the Downtown Library on
Saturday, June 11th from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM. Doors will open at 5:45. The WW
Tunes will celebrate American heroes of the WW II era with music from the
1940’s. This locally well-known group regularly performs at the Blue Dog Café
in Snow Hill and throughout the Eastern Shore. They always put on a wonderful
show! This program is supported by the Friends of Wicomico Public Libraries.

In conjunction with World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, MAC is holding an informational program on elder abuse. The public is welcome to attend and learn the signs of abuse and how to report it. Wear purple in support of WEAAD!

Horizons Summer Enrichment Program

We are pleased to share the exciting news of Horizons Salisbury!  On June 27, 2016 Horizons will begin a second summer learning site on the campus of Salisbury University as we kick off the Summer Enrichment and Academic Connections Program.  The Salisbury University campus and will initially welcome 12 Horizons students entering the first grade (Rising 1st Graders) and 12 Horizons students entering the fourth grade (Rising 4th Grade) for a total of 24 students

We are also excited for the continued support of our original partner, The Salisbury School, where we will continue to serve 108 Horizons students in Rising 1st through Rising 9th grades this summer.  The Horizons Summer Enrichment and Academic Connections Program begins June 27, 2016 and runs through August 5, 2016.

Tickets include Splash Mountain Water Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; amusement rides from 2-6 p.m. (limit two rides on the roller coaster and excluding Speed World and Zip Line); miniature golf from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and water basketball and volleyball for adults. Children under age 2 will be admitted free to the water park. Tickets are $25 and are sold in advance only. Ker Art Festival

The Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society presents the Annual Ker Art Festival Friday and Saturday, September 9 and 10 on the lawn at beautiful historic Ker Place in Onancock! Admission to all events is FREE and Open to the Public!

Festival events kick off Friday, September 9 with a Preview Party from 5 – 8 p.m. and live music from local band Corn Funk Revue, which will perform a mix of blues, folk, and original music. There will be a cash bar and an opportunity to preview and purchase artwork prior to the festival on Saturday. The Preview Party is held in conjunction with the 2nd Friday Art Stroll in Historic Onancock.

Saturday’s events, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., includes artists, concessions, children’s activities, live alpacas from By the Bay Alpacas, old-fashioned pie and cake auctions, and artist demonstrations. It’ll be the last opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the Fowling Point ChromaLuxe Metal Panel Print by landscape photographer Gordon Campbell, owner of At Altitude Gallery in Cape Charles. The winner for the raffle will be drawn at the end of the festival Saturday. Live music by local musician Erika Peterson begins at noon.  

Featured artists include: Mark Belknap/Red Dog Decoys, Karyn Belknap/Ten Good Sheep, Gertraud Fendler/Sea Glass Girl, Diane Ginsberg, Tara King/By the Bay Alpacas, Brenda Llewellyn Ceramics, Laura McGowan, Mama Girl, Stevon Sample/Dominion Multimedia, Guy Shover, Donna Stufft/Painted Stitches, Liz Watson/Soul Shine Jewelry, Vesna Zidovec, Bruce Ricci, and more!

All proceeds benefit the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society and their commitment to bringing exciting and quality educational programs to the Shore community.

We are going to dance the night away to the amazing Delmarvalous Dolls! Pam Wood will offer us a dance lesson to get us ready! You’ll enjoy a three course dinner, a museum of Salisbury in the 40s from the Nabb Research Center. You will even have the chance to bid on a first dance with some 1940s Salisbury icons (as represented by some of our very own icons of today!) Come dressed to impress- there may be a prize for you!
