Life Shouldn't be a Gamble-Quarter Auction
The Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company and Auxiliary are planning our 1st Annual “Life Shouldn’t be a Gamble” Quarter Auction. This event will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company. The main function of the Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company is to provide Fire Protection and EMS care to the Parsonsburg Community and its surrounding areas. This year with your help we would like to raise $13,000 towards the purchase of a 2nd LUCAS Device, this would ensure both of our ambulances, are able to provide the same quality of care to sudden cardiac arrest patients and avoid neurological damage, with a steady supply of oxygen to the heart and brain. Life-sustaining circulation would be created through effective and uninterrupted chest compressions.

MS Wellness Workshop: Exploring Activities Focused on Living
Join us at the YMCA in Salisbury, MD on Sunday, December 13 from 12:45 to 4pm, for an afternoon of activities focused specifically on living well with MS. At this workshop you will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive adaptive exercise class taught by Beth Miller, a certified personal trainer living with MS. Learn the importance of exercise to help manage common symptoms of MS such as muscle weakness, loss of balance, fatigue and depression.
After you get your heart rate up, Amy Ginnavan, LCSW-C, LCADC, a clinical social worker at Seaside Counseling & Wellness Center, will facilitate a discussion about the importance of managing your emotional health with MS. Managing the physical and emotional effects of MS can be challenging. Learn effective coping skills and self-care techniques to improve your overall emotional well-being.
