In conjunction with Pocomoketoberfest, The Pocomoke Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Pocomoke Plein Air on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5 & 6th! If you haven’t tried plein air painting before, this is the perfect opportunity to experience it. This is simply a fun opportunity to enjoy painting outdoors with a group of other artists. Civil War Heritage Day
Poplar Hill Mansion is pleased to announce the return of our Civil War Heritage Day, Sunday, Sept. 7 2014 from 10am -4pm. We will have refreshments, civil war re-enactors, venders, local authors, music and exhibits of Civil War era artifacts. This is a free event to the public, but we will also have venders and Carriage rides by R.T. Pulley of Cambridge for $10.00 per person. Please join us for a day of fun, interesting exhibits and meet our authors and venders. End of the Summer Tea Publicity
Poplar Hill Mansion’s End of Summer Tea is back on Thursday Sept. 11th at 11:30 am. We will be presenting a Fashion Show by Chicos and feature one of our favorite jewelry designers as well. Our menu includes fruit cup, homemade soup, tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, assorted sweets, and, of course Lady Gray tea. If you have never attended, our teas are sell outs, so please call early to reserve your space. We have yummy food, great fashions, raffle items to bid on and lots of fun! Cost is $22.00 per person and all proceeds go toward the preservation of Poplar Hill Mansion Salisbury’s oldest Federal House Museum, a (501 (c) (3).

West Wicomico Heritage Bike Tour
The Annual West Wicomico Heritage Ride Bike Tour will return on Saturday, Sept. 13. The tour will begin and end at Pemberton Historical Park and travel through the western Wicomico County towns of Whitehaven, Hebron, Quantico and Bivalve. Cyclers will experience 300 years of Maryland history along some of the most scenic roadways on the Eastern Shore.
Show and go will run from 7-8:30 a.m. Participants may choose a 32, 50 or 62 mile route and will receive a t-shirt, map and cue sheet upon check-in. Rest areas will be placed throughout the tour equipped with iced water and healthy snacks. Sag service will also be available. After the ride, enjoy an outdoor picnic and live music at Pemberton Historical Park until 2:30 p.m. Beer will also be available for purchase with a valid ID.
Register early and save $5! Now through August 15, registration fees are $35 for adults and $20 for children (ages 8-18). After August 15, registration fees will be $40 for adults and $25 for children. Registration is available online at www.PembertonPark.org or in person at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box Office (500 Glen Avenue, Salisbury, MD; Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.).
Proceeds from the
tour will benefit historic preservation and education at Pemberton Historical Park and The Whitehaven Heritage Association.

Healing Rose 5K / 1 Mile Family Walk
We are having our 2nd annual Healing Rose 5K / 1 Mile Family Walk. This event will be held right here at MAC Inc. and help to raise money for Women fighting Breast Cancer and GYN Cancer. It will also support our Healing Rose Garden we have started at our facility in order to help the women fighting cancer and those who have survived to come together and help each other through this tough time. PEACE IN THE PARK
Many different faith and community groups will cosponsor the 6th annual, local observance of the U.N. International Day of Peace, Peace in the Park.
There will be children's activities, live music, drumming, information tables and a peace walk. All are invited to join in the celebration, bring a picnic lunch and canned goods for the Maryland Food Bank, meet new and old neighbors, and enjoy peace related activities.

MAC Hosts Dinner Cruise
MAC Inc., Area Agency on Aging, will host its second cruise fundraiser to benefit Meals on Wheels on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
