The Cranberry Harvest Celebration returns to Wareham Columbus Day weekend, with a something for everyone! This year for a small fee, visitors to this popular event can don waders and jump into the cranberry bog full of floating berries, for selfies or just plain fun.

Now in its 14^th year, the Celebration is one of the region’s most popular fall events. Get a first-hand look at the cranberry harvest, enjoy live music and food demonstrations, shop our juried crafter tent and Farmers’ Market, view the birds of prey exhibit, take a paddleboat ride on scenic Tihonet Pond, take in the scenery by helicopter and much more.

The highlight of the day is a quick ride out to the A.D. Makepeace Company’s Frogfoot cranberry bogs, where guests can view all phases of the wet and dry harvest throughout the day, with explanations by experienced growers.

The event attracts attendees from all around the world – and right next door. Last year, one reviewer wrote, “Being at your farm made us stop and appreciate where we live…. We planned to spend an hour and spent six!”

The event, hosted by the A.D. Makepeace Company at its Tihonet Village headquarters, is Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10, $5 for seniors and military, and children under 7 are admitted free. Parking is free, and many children’s activities are free.
