Sketching For Scaredy Cats
Sketching for Scaredy Cats with Mary Richmond
Thursday evenings, March 26-May 14, 6-7:30 8 weeks
Fee: $160
If you’ve always wanted to learn to draw but were afraid you didn’t have the talent for it, Sketching for Scaredy Cats may be right up your alley. Instructor Mary Richmond of Cape Cod Art and Nature has been teaching people of all ages to draw for over 35 years and she believes anyone and everyone can learn to draw, given a few simple techniques and some practice. This is a skill based class with specific, sequential lessons. Each lesson will build on the skills learned in the preceding class.
This session is for real beginners who are nervous about picking up a pencil to make that first line, not for those wanting to brush up on their techniques.
Just bring yourself and a sense of humor to the first class. Paper and pencils will be provided, and supplies will be discussed at that time.
Mary Richmond is a life-long resident of Barnstable with a long history of teaching art and nature related classes. She has taught all over the Cape through her associations with Mass Audubon, the Thornton Burgess Society and many art organizations, including the Cotuit Center for the Arts. She is also a weekly nature columnist for the Cape Cod Chronicle and Enterprise Newspapers and writes regularly for the Barnstable Patriot.
