PET FIRST AID/CPR AND DISASTER RESPONSE

PET FIRST AID/CPR AND DISASTER RESPONSE
The course, entitled, Pet First Aid and Disaster Response, teaches student what to do if their beloved pet becomes sick or injured. Some of the topics that will be discussed during the program are CPR for your dog or cat, what happens if they choke on something, and how to do mouth-to-snout resuscitation. Medical emergencies such as seizures are discussed. You will also go over injury prevention, assessment, and treatment for broken bones and soft tissue injuries, such as cuts. Finally, during a disaster, either manmade or natural, a lot of things are going on. You want your pet with you if at all possible. We have to prepare for them as well as being prepared yourself. You should have a "go bag" for your pet as well as your family.
This course carries a two year certification card and certificate. You will receive a guidebook, reviewing everything in class.
Many people take CPR and first aid courses for their family.....now's the time to protect that "little furball" as well.

5th Annual Heroes Live Forever 5K

On April 1, 2014, Officer Gregg Maloney lost his life in the line of duty.  Officer Maloney was a 17 year veteran of the Plymouth Police Department and left behind his wife and 2 sons.  The first Heroes Live Forever 5K was created in Officer Maloney’s memory to raise funds for his family.

In 2015 the Maloney Family Pay-It-Forward Fund was established to help other local Police, Fire and Military families in need.
In addition to the Pay-It-Forward fund, we will continue to honor Officer Maloney and his family by donating a portion of the race proceeds to the Plymouth Police Relief Association as well as establishing a scholarship in his memory at Plymouth South High School to be given to a student going into the field of Criminal Justice.
