“Healthy Kids Day”, Saturday, April 21st, 2018, 10:00am-1:00pm.  Spend Saturday with us, have fun, learn something new, and meet our Camp Clark staff!  Happening at Camp Clark located at 200 Hedges Pond Road, Plymouth, MA 02360. Starting a busines is hard, so you may want to consider attending the SCORE Business Startup BootCamp. The SCORE Business Startup Bootcamp provides an overview of what you need to consider when you are planning to start a new business. It is designed to help you go from business concept to "opening the doors".
The Morning Session is a 3 hour interactive presentation, given by experienced SCORE counselors in each of the areas discussed. This session will give you a clearer understanding of what is necessary to run a business.
Key Topics include:
-Entrepreneurship: is it for you?
-Is your business concept reasonable?
-What is a business plan? How to decide if you need one? And key items to include.
-Building your financial plan and options for financing your business
-Key questions about finding customers - how you'll market your business to get sales

The Afternoon Sessions are small roundtable discussions led by SCORE counselors, in which you can talk about the issues you are facing and get ideas how to solve them

STAND UP! Against Sexual Violence

On April 25th, Health Imperatives will host STAND UP! Against Sexual assault at Hotel 1620 in Plymouth Harbor. This very special event will bring together 200 influential individuals from across the South Shore, including the people we serve and many of our partners in health care, law enforcement, education, and business.

We will hear from three extraordinary women about how we all can prevent violence, and support and empower survivors. 

  • Dr. Mary Burke, Senior Vice President of Quincy College, former dean of the Quincy College Plymouth campus, and member of Health Imperatives’ Board of Directors.
  • Michelle Cully, Founder and President Xpressman Trucking and Courier, Speaker and Advocate.
  • Maggie Shellene, Stonehill College student and Health Imperatives’ volunteer.

WHAT IS THE WINGS FOR LIFE WORLD RUN
The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the virtual Catcher Car. Now in it’s fith year, on May 6, 2018 Wings for Life World Run participants in United States can also run together in Plymouth. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 07:00. The virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 15km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

Feet, Fins, & Flippers 5K

Feet, Fins, & Flippers 5K
Use your FEET to help our FINNED and FLIPPERED friends! Join runners, walkers, and animal-lovers in a 5K run/walk to raise money for the National Marine Life Center! This is a fun, family oriented event.

The race begins at the Buzzards Bay Village Park, at the west end of Main Street next to the train station. The flat, scenic course travels down and back along the beautiful Cape Cod Canal. Ample parking is available. There will be a water station along the route accessible in both directions.

Prizes will be awarded to male and female runners in each of six age groups:  Neonate (12 and under), Pup (13-19), Yearling (20-29), Juvenile (30-39), Sub-Adult (40-49), Adult (50-59), and Senior (60+). Prizes will also be awarded to overall male and female winners.
