Provides a forum for identifying and discussing common issues and concerns affecting the industry and consumers, and provides counsel to the Chamber board on these issues. State Treasurer John Chiang will be in Bakersfield as part of a statewide listening tour to collect input from small businesses on how to best implement the California Secure Choice Retirement Savings Program.

The Secure Choice Retirement Savings investment Board was created by the state through legislation  enacted in 2012 to study the feasibility of providing an automatic retirement savings program for private sector employees without access to retirement through their employers. The Board is developing program design recommendations which will be presented to the Legislature early next year. If passed, the program would automatically cover all California workers without access to an employer-sponsored plan.

The forum is free to the public, but reservations are requested.

Organizes and facilitates events where Chamber members network in a social atmosphere that also provides a forum for member businesses to showcase their locations, products and services. Meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.
