Mark your calendars for the next Social Media Therapy session, which will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Chamber office, 1725 Eye St. During this session, Louis Amestoy, director of audience development with The Bakersfield Californian, will explain the benefits of using Google Docs and Google Drive, and how it can streamline how your company communicates internally.  

Cost is $30 for members; $60 for nonmembers

Organizes and facilitates events where Chamber members network in a social atmosphere that also provides a forum for member businesses to showcase their locations, products and services. Meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Hear how air quality, hydraulic fracturing and Common Core standards could impact Bakersfield in the next five years. The event will feature speakers Seyed Sadredin, air pollution control officer/executive director of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District; Dr. Christine Frazier, Kern County Superintendent of Schools; and Nicholas Ortiz, manager, production regions for the Western States Petroleum Association.

The purpose of the Networking Breakfast is to open the door for small businesses to find out about opportunities to do business with large companies. This quarterly event provides valuable information and also offers attendees the chance to promote their products and services to a wide variety of potential clients.

Learn how to do business with Goodwill and TRIP  

Chelsea Esquibias, director of marketing for Goodwill Industries of South Central California, will explain what it takes to do business with one of the country’s largest nonprofit organizations. Kris Budak, city program manager for the Thomas Roads Improvement Program (TRIP) and Kim Berrigan, purchasing officer for the City of Bakersfield, will share how local contractors can bid on city and TRIP projects.
