The Mission of the Transportation Committee is to obtain, share and act upon issues and needs in all matters related to city, state and federal funding for streets, highways, public transportation and aviation.

The Transportation Committee meets the first Monday at 4:00 pm.

Green Business Committee

The mission of the Green Business Committee is to enhance the visual image of Jonesboro through specific projects.
The Enviroment Committee meets the second Wednesday at 8:00am

Jonesboro Fire Extinguisher began servicing fire extinguishers in 1967. At the time the owner Eldridge Bradley started the company when he saw a need for fire protection in the Jonesboro area. Mr. Bradley started his company with an old pickup, a borrowed camper and $50. As the company spread out to serve the entire northeast Arkansas area, he incorporated in 1979 as Fire Protection of Arkansas, Incorporated.

Mr. Bradley passed away in October 1991, leaving the company with his son, Rusty Bradley. After 20 years of service on the Jonesboro Fire Department, Rusty retired as a ranking officer and he continues to operate the company today. Central Baptist Church will be opening their doors as the area hub for Operation Christmas Child shoebox collections Nov. 13th-Nov. 20th.   We will be serving as the Central drop off location collecting shoebox gifts in the community and receiving shoebox gifts collected at other local Drop-off locations in 6 other counties and then making sure the shoebox gifts reach their next destination, the Processing Center.  Our goal for 2017 will be 11,550 shoeboxes.
