Active Shooter
Civilian Response Training
Birmingham, MI, September 26, 2018– Active Shooter Civilian Response Training Birmingham First will host Active Shooter Civilian Response Training on Monday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Christian Life Center
Central Michigan University, Royal Oak Post Office, Las Vegas concerts, a Texas church shooting…. How would you protect yourself and others if you were in one of these tragedies? Are there steps you can take to increase your odds of surviving a violent encounter?
Yes! As a service to our community, Birmingham First, a United Methodist Church, has partnered with the Birmingham Police Department to provide the community an evening training session using the #1 shooter civilian response training for all types of organizations.
ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) training will be led by Birmingham police officer, Commander Scott Grewe, and provide preparation and a plan for individuals and groups to proactively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or and active shooter event. You will learn the new, accepted response that has improved results over the traditional “lockdown” response.
All are invited to attend this free event on Monday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Christian Life Center of Birmingham First. The church is located at 1589 W. Maple Road (between Southfield and Cranbrook) in Birmingham.
