Robert Gibbs FASLA , AICP serves as GPG’s president and managing director. Based in downtown Birmingham for over 30 years, GPG offers urban planning and real estate advising services across the Americas, Europe and Pacific Rim. Gibbs teaches at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, has recently been named by his peers as one of the most influential urban planners of the past century and elevated to the Council of Fellows by the American Society of Landscape Architects in 2019.
Locally, GPG co-authored Birmingam's 2016 Plan with Andres Duany and has planned Eton Station in the Rail District, Westwood Common in Beverly Hills and town centers for Howell, Macomb, Southfield, Troy, Warren and Westland. GPG has also consulted in Alexanderia, Auckland, Beverly Hills (CA), Charleston, Disney, Houston, Ireland, Mexico, Naples, Palm Beach, Palm Desert, Panama, Portland, Santa Cruz, Sarasota, Sydney and Warsaw.
Gibbs is a graduate of Oakland University and the University of Michigan. He has been honored by the Clinton Presidential Library, the City of Auckland and awarded Oakland University's Distinguished Alumni prize and an Honorary Doctor of Arts for his life's contributions to cities. Gibbs also hosts Michigan Plannng Today on the Bloomfield Communty Cable network channel 15 and has been featured in the Atlantic, Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post.
