In 1969, the employees of Western Electric of Oklahoma pooled their resources to form a not-for-profit cooperative and named it WEOKIE (WE = Western Electric, OKIE = Oklahoma). Youth & Family Services is a non-profit, community based charitable organization formed to meet a critical community need for emergency shelter for abused and neglected children. The agency’s mission is “To provide, promote, assist and facilitate a community-based, structured process of counseling, socialization, recreation, educational assistance, and in emergency youth shelter for youth and their families who have been identified as in need of assistance in adjusting to current life situations.”

The YPSFE is a 501(c)(3) that works alongside the Yukon Public School District to award teacher grants. We are fully funded through grants, business, and individual donations.
