Grand Avenue Community Outreach is an ecumenical, volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that provides social services and outreach programs designed to meet physical, spiritual, and long-term needs to people in Northwest Iowa and beyond. The main lobby is open Monday through Friday from 7am to 1pm. Grand Avenue Free Medical Clinic is available the 3rd Thursday of each month from 4 pm to 8 pm, walk-ins are welcome - first come, first served and the Dental Clinic is available by appointment only. Free Food and Clothing Distribution is on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 2 to 5pm but emergency food bags are always available in the lobby (limit one per week for each household) and the Grand Avenue Community Kitchen offers free hot meals every Monday and Thursday evening from 5-6:30pm. We are also home to Birthright of Spencer, the Clay County office for Family Crisis Centers, All Those Yesterdays Mental Health & Substance Abuse Counseling, United Way of Spencer, the American Red Cross of Clay County, Hope Haven's Day-Hab program, Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, and various support groups.

Hope Haven is a faith based, non-profit agency and has been a pioneer in its ministry for 49 years.
Established in 1964, the agency's mission is to help individuals with disabilities to unleash their potential so that they may live life as a part of his/her community, with as much independence as possible.  The organization is able to accomplish this mission by providing life skills training, residential services, employment training and placement, behavioral health programs and children and family services.
Hope Haven provides support to adults, children and families across Iowa and Southwest Minnesota, having served over 1485 people last year.
Globally, Hope Haven International delivers hope and mobility through the free gift of a wheelchair, thus far distributing over 105,000 wheelchairs to people in 107 countries.  Hope Haven also has staffed programs in Romania, Guatemala and Vietnam.  This past year, Hope Haven served 168 children and adults with disabilities in Spencer and Clay County.

Hope Church is a church that values God’s Word, the incredible grace of Jesus and the gospel, and loves the community of Spencer. We want to be a church that people enjoy being a part of. A church that helps people find their place in God’s story and live out their calling in him.

Every Sunday at 8:30 am and 10:45 am you will be encouraged by a message based on God's word, inspired by the music and welcomed by our church family. Our Sunday School program is at 9:45 am for ages 3 years through adult. Our program provides a safe, fun environment for kids and adults to learn about God's love and grace.

Our Youth Program offers students the opportunity to engage with God and build relationships with Him and others. Middle School meets on Wednesday evenings. 6th grade at 5:30 pm, 7th grade at 6:30 pm and 8th grade at 7:30 pm. The High School (9th-12th grade) meets on Sundays at 7:00 pm.

The Spencer Community School Foundation is a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded by donations, bequests, and annual giving programs.
(no operating funds are received from the State of Iowa or the Spencer Community Schools budget.)

The goal of the foundation is to partner with businesses to meet educational and vocational needs, enhance and enrich educational opportunities for students and teachers, and expand horizons for the entire community.

The foundation office is staffed part-time September through May.
