City of Valley Park Hires City Administrator
Valley Park, MO
08/26/2020 04:03 PM
On Monday, August 17th, the City of Valley Park officially transitioned to a City-Manager form of government with the hiring of Dusty Hosna as its first city administrator. This form of government brings accountability, professional management and oversight to all aspects of city government. More importantly, it vests the responsibility of the day to day operations with a designated, on-site person as opposed to elected officials who will continue to set the policies and goals for the city. Valley Park joins virtually every other city in St. Louis County who have also adopted this economical and common-sense form of government.

Mr. Hosna brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the city. Before serving as the Valley Park City Clerk, he began his career in local government with the City of Dellwood and served as the City Clerk for Brentwood. He is also a commissioned police officer having served the communities of Prairie du Rocher and Red Bud, IL. He completed his undergraduate studies at Southwestern Illinois College and the University of Illinois - Springfield. While studying local government, he served as intern in the State of Illinois Governor’s Office. He is currently working towards an MPA from the University of Illinois - Springfield.
Mayor Chandra Webster commented, “This change is long overdue for Valley Park. Gone are the days where the good-ole boys mismanage city government for their own benefit. We now have professional, accountable leadership. I am thrilled with the addition of Mr. Hosna and I am proud that our city has taken this step forward.”
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen welcome Mr. Hosna to the city and we encourage residents to call or stop by city hall to meet him in person. Mr. Hosna’s email is dhosna@valleyparkmo.org and his number is 636-861-1385.
