Hope Against Trafficking Names New Executive Director

Pontiac, Mich., March 26, 2020- Hope Against Trafficking announced today that they have hired a new Executive Director, Tracey Kevelighan.

“Working with survivors of Human Trafficking and bringing awareness to our community on this issue is something that is very important to me,” said Tracey. “I am honored to start as Hope Against Trafficking’s new Executive Director and look forward to making an impact as a servant leader.” 

Prior to this position, Tracey was the co-founder and senior partner at Kevelighan & Kevelighan, PC.  She managed the immigration department focused on counseling and representing foreign nationals in all capacities, including victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.  Tracey has more than 20 years of experience advocating for those in need through board positions and volunteering with such organizations such as Junior League of Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills Schools and Rochester Community Schools. She is considered a Master Global Champion and graduate of the Institute of Healing Racism.

Tracey earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs and French from Columbia College in South Carolina. “Tracey has a passion for our mission and has worked with us for years as a speaker and volunteer. She has a clear vision to lead our organization as it continues to grow,” said Lauren Petrous, Board President. “We are proud to have such a strong advocate in our corner who knows our organization well and understands the issues survivors face.” Tracey lives in Oakland Township with her husband and four kids. 

Hope Against Trafficking’s previous Executive Director, Hannah McPeak, held the position in a volunteer capacity as the organization grew. Hannah will remain active in the organization as a member of the board of directors and the education team. 

Hannah said, “I am so excited to have Tracey on board. I am passionate about human trafficking education and will be staying involved in the organization beyond my board role and as an active volunteer.” 

Tracey begins her role at Hope Against Trafficking this week.
