A NEW HOME FOR BIRMINGHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Birmingham, MI
10/30/2013 10:17 AM
With much consideration, the Birmingham Public Schools Board of Education has revitalized the former Birmingham Conference Center as the Birmingham Education & Administration Center. Along with school officials, the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony welcoming the school district’s new home. Superintendent Dr. Daniel A. Nerad of Birmingham Public Schools spoke in honor of the Birmingham Education & Administration Center’s admirable outlook within the community.

Specially created by Groves High School marketing students, the Center’s name holds special meaning to the District. “The word education refers to our mission work and to the importance of adult learning in a school district.  The word administration refers to the important leadership responsibilities that need to be in completed in a school district,” Dr. Nerad explained.

In his final statements, Nerad asked the purpose of a district school building to the Birmingham community.  His answer: “…Most important from my perspective, it is to serve our schools and the learning needs of our students.  For a district office building to serve a good purpose in a school district it is through a focus on student learning and by supporting our schools.  This must be our commitment as we work to ensure this building is used well and is used right.”

The Birmingham Education & Administration Center is located at 31301 Evergreen Road, Beverly Hills, adjacent to Groves High School.  For more information, call (248) 203-3000 or visit www.birmingham.k12.mi.us or on Facebook – Birmingham Public Schools.
