Gratitude, it was the focus of Governor Doug Burgum’s State of the State address in Minot. It’s a funny thing. Sometimes we as employees forget that our customer or client is a human being with everyday issues just like us…. Remember, life happens! Maybe we have become cynical after having one too many customers who have told us off. But it is amazing how different a person acts or reacts when you simply listen.
On Tuesday, March 27, the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to bring VJ Smith to Minot to show us the importance of great customer service. The Brookings, South Dakota native will talk about his experiences with a man named Marty who changed his life. Marty is the focus of a book he wrote entitled, “The Richest Man in Town.” Marty’s story proves the importance of not only showing gratitude for a purchase, but how listening can set you apart from others. In today’s economy, that’s important now more than ever.
