We are holding our annual Future Careers Expo at AK Smith Career Center in Michigan City on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

For the past few years we have reached out to the community and asked business professionals to volunteer to give our students a “mock employment interview”.  We have had a good deal of success with this exchange between our students and our business partners.          

We are again requesting assistance from the community and ask that our community partners find time in their schedule to volunteer to give mock interviews to our juniors and seniors. These students will be entering the workforce very soon and are counting on you to help them take their next steps towards gainful employment!  

We are asking you to save the date and volunteer to help us on Thursday, April 18, 2024.  This experience helps to give our students the opportunity to participate in several interviews to prepare for future careers. The feedback we receive from both our students and interviewers has been very positive.          

Another part of our Future Careers Expo is the Expo! We invite colleges, military, non-for profit, and local businesses to set up a table in our Professional Development Center to speak with our students about their future opportunities whether they be in industry, post-secondary education, or the military.          

We have 2 sessions for our event as we have students in the morning and in the afternoon from schools all over LaPorte County.         Morning Session 7:45-9:25 AM     Afternoon Session 11:45-2 PM        

Volunteers may arrive as early as 7am for set up. Lunch will be on your own from the wonderful options in the area.
