Local Orthodontist Gives Back to Organization Where He Volunteered as a Teenager

Dr. Paul Hechler has joined his father, Dr. Steven Hechler at Hechler Orthodontics in Overland Park, KS. Like his father, Hechler will be working as a provider for Smiles Change Lives, an organization that connects low-income families with children in need of orthodontic care with orthodontists willing to donate their services. Hechler first became acquainted with Smiles Change Lives when he volunteered there as a high school student.
“I volunteered with Smiles Change Lives throughout high school coming down almost every week during the summers. The thing I remember most is how much I enjoyed working with such nice people that were making such an impact in young men and women’s lives,” says Hechler, “I am very excited to not only be joining my father in practice but to be joining my father as an SCL provider. It is an honor to be associated with such a great organization and it has been such a fun and rewarding experience treating SCL patients over the past several months. I look forward to working with SCL and helping as many kids as I can throughout my career!”

About Dr. Paul Hechler:
Dr. Paul Hechler grew up in Overland Park, KS and attended Blue Valley North High School. He pursued his undergraduate training at Wake Forrest University - Winston Salem, North Carolina. He received his dental degree at UMKC School of Dentistry, graduating as a member of the OKU National Dental Honor Society. After attaining his dental degree, Dr. Paul completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Iowa. There he was awarded both a Certificate of Orthodontics and master’s degree. Dr. Paul Hechler is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and the Kansas Dental Association (KDA).
