The Opportunity:
Plymouth County Development Council and Plymouth County Convention & Visitors Bureau seek an experienced, strategic and visionary Executive Director to lead the regional agenda of the Plymouth County Convention & Visitors Bureau, including Destination Plymouth, during this important moment when tourism is front and center across the region and Commonwealth.
Plymouth Country Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCCVB) is one of 16 Regional Tourism Councils in the Commonwealth working in conjunction with the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism (MOTT) to promote economic development through tourism. As part of Plymouth County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Destination Plymouth (DP) is a member-based agency whose mission is to work in unison to promote Plymouth and surrounding communities as a tourism destination to both domestic and international audiences.
The Executive Director will possess strong organizational acumen, grant writing and interpersonal skills, outstanding judgment, and be a critical thinker. The Executive Director will lead the work and assimilate and balance different interests of various constituent groups and individuals. The Executive Director will champion the organizations’ missions and values and lead the development of strategies on the organizations’ core priority areas, ensuring that Plymouth County Development Council and Destination Plymouth, their Partners, Members and Boards of Directors, achieve shared performance outcomes.
Reporting to the PCDC and DP Boards of Directors, the Executive Director is adept at balancing internal management with external impact and visibility. The individual must be an outstanding communicator who is able to develop and maintain relationships that ensure financial health and stability, build important partnerships that maximize the organization’s influence and effectively convey the mission and activities of Plymouth County Development Council and Destination Plymouth to a variety of constituencies and public.
