Planning (DRP) is a critical business function that requires careful
planning by all employees, and should include Information Systems (IS)
department, functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable,
payroll, customer support and any production departments.
The objective of this presentation is to
provide some guidance for small businesses on how to plan for a disaster
situation. Actions required and addressed include the creation of a DRP
team to create the plan, the review and update process of policy and procedure
documentation, the methods required to document not just IS equipment but also
any other important equipment used in production, and to acquire the
understanding required to perform and document a business disaster risk
analysis. This information can then be used to create a useful DRP.
