10 Mile Tipoff
The 10 Mile Tipoff: Salisbury University vs. University of Maryland Eastern Shore will take place Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.

The event will showcase a men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader benefiting a scholarship fund for the new Wicomico Youth Basketball League. The women’s game will start at 6 p.m. with the men following at 8 p.m.

Women Supporting Women 25th Anniversary Gala
Join us on November 2nd, 2018 as we ring in the end of our 25th Anniversary year with a gala, held at the stunning Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort in Cambridge, MD.


The evening will feature a wonderful three course meal, live music provided by Special Delivery Band, silent auctions (including some amazing vacations, donated by AmFund!), wine pull, and more! Help us finish this milestone of a year & let us thank you for your endless support!

This milestone event serves as one of our last big fundraisers for 2018. Please join us for an exciting evening filled with great food, dancing, live music, silent auctions, wine pull, and so much more! Admission price is $100 per person. Bingomania, the Eastern Shore’s largest bingo cash prize event, returns to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Saturday, Nov. 3. Doors open at 5 p.m. for early bird games, and regular games begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person in advance and $55 per person at the door; fees may apply to ticket prices.

Stepping On is a free falls prevention class that will help you recognize your risk of falling, and build the physical strength and practical skills you need to avoid falling. Local experts and trained leaders will help you find solutions to make your home safer and your body stronger. Co-sponsored with Home Instead Senior Care and numerous community partners, this annual public service program provides holiday presents to lonely or needy seniors in our community. Seniors' Christmas gift wishes are anonymously displayed on ornaments and hung on a Christmas tree at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and local businesses. Choose an ornament, shop for the gift, wrap it and return it to the location from where you choose the ornament.   Learn more about this program at the kick off event to join us in supporting the seniors in our community.

"The Joy of Creative Engagement"

A free workshop for caregivers, “The Joy of Creative Engagement,” will be presented from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at MAC, Inc., the Area Agency on Aging.normal">The workshop will be presented by Ilyana Kadushin, founder of Stories Love Music Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides programs for senior citizens with memory loss, and their caregivers. This workshop is intended for the caregivers of those age 65 and older, who have Alzheimer’s and dementia, in addition to elder care health professionals. Sessions will focus on how caregivers can treat their burnout and stress, as well as creative tools to apply to caregiving. Lunch will be provided. General Membership Luncheon with Mary Beth Tung

Mary Beth Tung, Ph.D., Esq., was named by Governor Hogan as the Director of the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) on May 17, 2016. As Director of the MEA, Dr. Tung works to ensure that Maryland’s energy portfolio benefits Maryland residents, businesses and local government organizations by improving the effective use of all of energy resources available in the state. Dr. Tung oversees nearly 40 energy related programs including grants that benefit low-to-moderate income families, commercial and industrial entities, and residential. These programs also promote expansion of renewable energy and promotion of energy efficiency for businesses and nonprofit organizations.
