The SACC September 16th General Membership Luncheon will feature Mr. Tom Baxter, President and CEO of Baxter Enterprises, located in Salisbury MD.

Baxter Enterprises has been in business nearly three decades. As one of the largest McDonalds restaurant franchise owners in the on the east coast, he owned and operated 19 locations on Delmarva, with over 1,200 employess serving over $7.5 million guests per year.

Prior to becoming a McDonalds franchisee, Baxter worked with the McDonald’s Corporation for 25 years in new product development, domestically and internationally.

Mr. Baxter will share insights into the franchise industry, discuss trends in the fast food and fast casual marketplace and his experiences with the world's largest fast food giant.

Bingomania, the Eastern Shore’s largest bingo cash prize event, returns to the Wicomico Civic Center on Saturday, Sept. 18. Doors open at 5 p.m. for early bird games, and regular games begin at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to Bingomania includes all regular and special games, including the Jumbo Jackpot Game. Regular game payouts are $500, while special games will pay out $1,000. The Jumbo Jackpot Game pays a maximum of $10,000 depending upon attendance. Attendees must be 16 or older.

Tickets are $45 per person in advance and $55 per person at the door; fees may apply to ticket prices. All proceeds benefit the Mardela Middle and High School Bands.

The 2021 Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, presented by Spicer Brothers Construction, will be held on September 24, 2021 at Hyatt River Marsh Golf Club in Cambridge, MD. 

This is the SACC premier networking event of the year, where business experts and community leaders from all over Delmarva gather for a golf tournament like no other.    

Participants say this tournament is unique, enjoyable, and a great opportunity to connect with colleagues and make new connections!

Falls are the No. 1 cause of injury in older adults, but they are NOT an inevitable part of the aging process! Learn how to prevent falls and take charge of your independence!

Come to MAC on Fall Prevention Day, Friday, Sept. 24, from 9 to 11 a.m., and learn:
• If you are at risk of falling
• What you can do to prevent a fall

Activities will include
• Free fall risk screenings
• Free blood pressure screenings
• Free medication review
• Informational vendors

Those participating in the medication review should bring a list of all their medications, which will be reviewed for prescription drugs that could be related to falling. University of Maryland Eastern Shore Pharmacy students will conduct the medication reviews.
Admission to Fall Prevention Day is free and all ages are welcome.

Join Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County for our second annual VIRTUAL 5K fun run/roll/stroll to raise money to continue building homes for hardworking families in need. 

It has been a tough year for us all, and many of our plans have been altered or canceled. This is an opportunity to raise funds for hardworking, deserving families in need while having some much-needed fun. So head out and walk, run, or roll, and if you're feeling extra "spirited", wear your Halloween costume! 

All ages, abilities, and fitness levels are encouraged to participate. Gather your friends, family, and co-workers and see how many people you can get to be on YOUR team! We will call out the teams with the highest members on our Facebook page, as well as post shared images of your Halloween costumes so like/follow us if you don't already. 

The team with the highest member count will receive special spooky medals!

2021 Job and Career Fair

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lower Shore American Job Center are proud to host their annual regional Job and Career Fair every fall at the Centre at Salisbury.

This year’s fair, presented by Quality Staffing Services, will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

The regional Job and Career Fair is FREE for attendees and open to the community.

Over 65 employers participate in the Job & Career Fair, and approximately 2000 job seekers attend the event. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, extra safety measures will be implemented as outlined below.

Any business seeking employees in the Lower Shore region is encouraged to participate, regardless of company size. The Job & Career Fair is an excellent opportunity for employers to meet face-to-face with prospective employees. Booths will be safely distanced throughout the main corridors of the mall, providing maximum exposure for businesses to all mall visitors and potential employees.

Job seekers will have direct access to hundreds of job openings in a wide range of industries.  Participants are encouraged to come dressed for success and bring multiple copies of their resumé for distribution to prospective employers. Resumé assistance will be available at the event, without charge.

Premium sponsorships are available for $500, and booth space is available for $125.
