Join Coastal Hospice for an evening of fine food and wine from 17 local chefs while overlooking the Ocean City inlet at sunset. Reservations are $100 per person and include food and wine pairings and live music from Lauren Glick.

"Getting Ahead of the Wave" Part 2-Examining and Planning for Post-Pandemic Fiscal and Financial Scenarios 

Join us for PART 2 of a three part series brought to you by BEACON at Salisbury University and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce as we explore strategies and mechanisms to weather the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Memo Diriker will share his perspective on what businesses and organizations should focus on during this crisis and what the "new normal" for our Shore economy may look like as the recovery begins. Joining the discussion will be colleagues Dr. Ying Wu and Dr. Leonard Arvi.

Dr. Ying Wu
Professor of Economics, Franklin P. Perdue School of Business

Dr. Ying Wu is a Professor of Economics at the Franklin P. Perdue School, Salisbury University. His teaching and research focuses are macroeconomics and monetary economics. Dr. Wu served as a U.S. Fulbright Lecturer in the 2010-2011 academic year.

 Dr. Leonard Arvi
Associate Professor of Finance, Franklin P. Perdue School of Business

Dr. Leonard Arvi is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, Salisbury University with research interests in real estate, risk management in currency markets. He has graduate degrees in Finance, Computer Science and undergraduate degree in Chemistry. He is serial entrepreneur with two current ventures in real estate development and business consulting.

Dr. Dustin Chambers
Professor of Economics, Franklin P. Perdue School of Business

Dr. Dustin Chambers is a Professor of Economics in the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University, a BEACON Scholar in Résidence, a Senior Affiliated Scholar for the Mercatus Center at George Mason University and a Policy Advisor at the Heartland Institute. Dr. Chambers is an applied econometrician who has published widely on the topics of income inequality, poverty, and economic growth.
