SNHS's HUD certified class includes presentations by Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Service, Inc. staff and local experts in the homebuying process on topics such as:

• Knowing what you can afford
• How to get Pre-Approved for a loan
• Finding a real estate agent
• What is a home inspection?

Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Each attendee will receive a certificate required for first-time homebuyer loan products.

Participate in a day of health and wellness education with a holistic approach, hosted by Women Supporting Women. 
Admission is free and includes representation from various vendors such as essential oils, herbal teas and therapy services to topics of discussion on relaxation, medical marijuana and 
genetics.

Bingomania, the Eastern Shore’s largest bingo cash prize event, returns to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Saturday, June 8.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for early bird games, and regular games begin at 7:30 p.m.  

Tickets are $45 per person in advance and $55 per person at the door; fees may apply to ticket prices.

All proceeds benefit the Mardela Middle and High School Bands.

This workshop is designed to improve your computer skills while editing your resume to make it stronger and more appealing to an employer. Library staff will be on hand in the computer lab to assist as you complete an online session of Applied Digital Skills created by Google. Open to all skill levels for anyone looking to improve their resume and practice with online job searches, at no charge to you! The Job Search Center staff will be available to help you replace your previous resume posted online with your new one! #growwithgoogle

Peninsula Regional Medical Center is offering a four-week Prepared Childbirth course from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. beginning July 9. Classes meet July 9, 16, 23 & 30. Newborn Care is an added bonus as the 4th class.

Meet other expectant parents at this interactive course that includes information about prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care and infant safety. You will tour the medical center and learn what to expect during labor and birth, different breathing techniques, relaxation skills and other helpful comfort measures to use whether you are planning a medicated or non-medicated birth. You will also learn basic newborn care. You do not have to bring anything to this class.

Classes will take place at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Hallowell B.

Registration for this class ends one week prior to the first class date.

The fee is $90 for the mom-to-be and her coach. Pre-registration is required.

The Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute offers free vascular screenings for people 55 or older.

Appointments are required. All screenings will be performed at Peninsula Regional Medical Center between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. - call 410-543-7123.

The free screenings will include ultrasound testing for carotid artery blockage and abdominal aortic aneurysm, and ankle-brachial index tests for peripheral artery disease.

The screenings are for individuals who exhibit at least three prominent risk factors or one symptom. Risk factors for vascular disease include smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, obesity, heart disease and a family history of vascular disease. Symptoms include leg pain when walking, numbness in the leg or foot, stroke-like symptoms (numbness, weakness, dizziness and difficulties with speech or vision), a family history of aneurysm and unexplained abdominal or back pain. Those currently under a physician’s care for vascular or arterial health issues and those who have participated in this screening in the past are not eligible to participate.

The annual MAC Inc. Fun Day at the Jolly Roger Amusement Park in Ocean City will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 13.

Tickets are $25 and are on sale in advance only. The event is held rain or shine.

Tickets include Splash Mountain Water Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; amusement rides from 2-6 p.m. (limit two rides on the roller coaster and excluding Speed World and Zip Line); miniature golf from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and water basketball and volleyball for adults. Children under age 2 will be admitted free to the water park only.
