Women Supporting Women's 17th Annual Walk for Awareness

Women Supporting Women is having our 17th Annual Walk for Awareness. Help us to raise money to keep providing free services to breast cancer survivors on Delmarva.

Registration is $25/person or $30/person on the day of event. (Children under 12 are free) Fee includes lunch from Texas Roadhouse, T-shirt and bottle of water. Want to bring your dog? No problem. Furry friends are $5/dog and includes a goodie bag, bandana and AYCD (all you can drink) water.

Registration begins at 8:30 AM and walk at 10:00 AM. Awards will be given for top fundraising team, top fundraising individual, largest team, best decorated team and best decorated dog.

Antiques Appraisal Fair

Two events will be held in tandem this year for one great day: The second Antiques Appraisal Fair and the Thrive: Senior Life After 55 senior expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at MAC, Inc., Salisbury.

The Antiques Appraisal Fair will feature antiques experts Charlene Upham and Steve Blumenauer offering verbal fair market appraisals of antiques, artwork, jewelry, collectibles, silver, coins and more.

Spectator admission is free; the cost for appraisals is $5 for one item, $10 for three items. An antique car show and silent auction also are planned.

This event is being presented by MAC, Inc., and the Westside Historical Society.

The antiques event is being held in conjunction with Thrive: Senior Life After 55, a senior expo featuring displays by area businesses and services offering information to help those age 55+ enhance their lifestyle. In addition to displays and presentations by many area businesses of particular interest to those age 55 and older, there will be door prizes and other giveaways, and demonstrations.

Admission to the senior expo is free. Thrive is being sponsored by the Salisbury Independent newspaper.

MAC is located off Snow Hill Road in Salisbury, behind the Holly Center.

Chesapeake Wildfowl Expo

October 12-  50th Anniversary Golden Goose Reception & Auction. Held in conjunction with the Chesapeake Wildfowl Expo.

 The crisp, clear fall air and beautiful grounds of the museum will once again set the stage for a day of excitement, anticipation, and socialization among decoy collectors and carvers from across the country. Chesapeake Wildfowl Expo pays tribute to decoys from the past while encouraging the carving of new ones. Admission to the event and museum is free! Registration begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday followed by the Competition.

Halloween Happening

 Halloween Happening is the biggest Halloween event on the Eastern Shore. The event provides Halloween themed activities for children 10 and under who may not want to participate in the scarier parts of a Halloween event. The event runs on Saturday, October 13th and on the following Saturday, October 20st from 1pm-4pm. Children will be able to” Trick or Treat” throughout the Zoo, participate in Halloween games, educated about animals, go thru a hay bale maze and compete in a costume contest! SNHS 25th Anniversary Golf Tournament
Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services Inc. operates with the mission to cultivate sustainable neighborhoods with partnerships and lending that inspire self-reliance, growth and optimism. In honor of our 25th Anniversary, we will be holding a golf tournament in hopes of celebrating our accomplishments with the community.

12:30 PM Shotgun Start - Scramble Format 

4-Person Team: $400
Team and Tee Sign: $500 
Individual: $100 
Price includes green fees, cart fee, lunch, beverages and entrance to Oktoberfest 25th Anniversary after-party. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams as well as for putting contest, hole-in-one and closest to the pin.

Following the tournament will be an Oktoberfest 25th Anniversary Celebration from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Those not participating in the tournament are welcome to attend. Fee associated.
