DIY Medicare Enrollment Training


Medicare-eligible State of Maryland retirees will no longer receive prescription drug coverage under the Maryland State health plan, effective Jan. 1, 2019. These Medicare-eligible State of Maryland retirees have until Dec. 31, 2018, to enroll in a Medicare Part D plan for prescription drugs, at their cost, to ensure there is no gap in their coverage.
Choosing a new prescription drug plan and navigating the Medicare maze can be confusing. MAC, Inc., is ready to help. MAC will offer a how-to program for do-it-yourselfers who would like to handle their Medicare enrollment themselves online. The program will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, at MAC, Inc. Space is limited and registration is required. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9. To register, or for more information, call 410-742-0505, ext. 113. This is a free service.

Not only will you enjoy a great day of golfing and networking with business clients, you'll be helping us raise funds for Chesapeake Health Care's new Child & Family Mental Health Center located in Salisbury, MD.

The registration fee includes continental breakfast, a round of golf, golf cart rental, and on-course beverages. We'll have Closest to the Pin Contest, auction items, raffle prizes, and a 50/50. Delmarva Public Radio invites the Delmarva community to “Clean Up” Downtown Salisbury on August 25th from 8 a.m. to noon. You can help DPR beautify our community in preparation for the National Folk Festival! Participants will meet at Riverwalk Park at the corner of West Market Street and Division Street in Downtown Salisbury. The clean-up will run until approximately 11:30 a.m. Following the clean-up, participants are invited to enjoy some free sandwiches and light appetizers at Roadie Joe's.

American Cancer Society Bark For Life of Wicomico County

 
Bark For Life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

 

This year's event will be held Sunday September 9th at Winter Place Park in Salisbury. We are honored that our event is hosted by Signature Sponsor Eastern Shore Auctions. 

EJ Foxx will be our emcee for the day's events. 

We will have our Walk along with games, K-9 Demo from WCSO, vendors, food entertainment, raffles and silent auction.  

Fun for the entire family! Registration opens at 0830.

Proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society, Relay For Life of Wicomico County

Dogs must be at least 6 months old and current on all shots.

Dogs must be on a leash at all times

Dogs  must be accompanied by a human at least 16 years of age

Dogs must be social  

You must clean up after your dog 

 

Entry Fee is $15.00 includes one Canine and their Human companion . Pre registration is appreciated

American Sign Language Classes Level 1

Want to learn American Sign Language, (ASL) or know someone who does?  Then register for DILA’s American Sign Language Level I, five week course, taught twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 11 through October 11, 2018 from 6-8pm at DILA, 806 Snow Hill Rd, Salisbury, MD. Students will learn to carry on an everyday conversation with deaf individuals.  Role playing and games designed to teach basic signs are used as tools. By the end of the class, a sampling of the skills you will learn are: Manual Alphabet, numbers, introducing yourself, talking about family, discussing the home, office and more. Cost is $225 and includes textbook/DVD, Signing Naturally. If you already have the textbook/DVD then cost is $150. Minimum of 10 students required for class. Space is limited so register early.
