General Membership Luncheon with Professor Shad Ewart
The June General Membership Luncheon will feature speaker Professor Shad Ewart of Anne Arundel Community College, discussing the cannabis industry in Maryland. During his presentation, Ewart plans to elaborate on job creation in the Maryland cannabis supply chain, economic development and job opportunities in the ancillary business of the industry, as well as what the future hold may hold including challenges and adult and recreational use.  A Paint Night will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 13, at MAC, Inc., the Area Agency on Aging. Participants will paint a beach scene. The cost is $35, which includes instruction and all supplies needed to create a finished painting, and snacks. All proceeds will benefit MAC. DIY Medicare Enrollment Training

 Medicare-eligible State of Maryland retirees will no longer receive prescription drug coverage under the Maryland State health plan, effective Jan. 1, 2019. These Medicare-eligible State of Maryland retirees have until Dec. 31, 2018, to enroll in a Medicare Part D plan for prescription drugs, at their cost, to ensure there is no gap in their coverage.
Choosing a new prescription drug plan and navigating the Medicare maze can be confusing. MAC, Inc., is ready to help. MAC will offer a how-to program for do-it-yourselfers who would like to handle their Medicare enrollment themselves online. The program will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, at MAC, Inc., in Salisbury.  Space is limited and registration is required. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. on July 16. To register, or for more information, call 410-742-0505, ext. 113. This is a free service. Enrollment training is also offered in Snow Hill, Westover and Ocean Pines.
