DACO nurtures the intellectual, artistic, and personal development of children,  youth and young adults through arts education, performing opportunities, and live theatre experiences.

Classes, productions, and workshops at DACO focus on the process of learning. Students build confidence and are inspired to take creative risks. The program strongly emphasizes process over product, creating a learning environment in which students are free to explore and work without fear of judgment.

Lincoln Hills Golf Course is located at 2666 West Fourteen Mile Road, just west of Cranbrook Road. Built in 1964, Lincoln Hills is one of two municipal golf courses in the City of Birmingham. The terrain is rolling and offers golfers a fun and challenges golf experience. The course was recently renovated and the irrigation system upgraded. The Lincoln Hills Clubhouse was also completely renovated. These improvements have made Lincoln Hills one of the top municipal, nine hole golf courses in the Detroit Metropolitan area. The par for men and women is 35 and the course ranges from 3023 yards from the blue tees to 2336 yards from the red tees. The clubhouse offers sundry golfer items, snack bar, pull carts and power carts. Course offerings include a PGA golf pro, youth and adult lessons, an exceptional Junior Golf Program, handicapping service, golf education center and league play.

A National Historic Landmark, Meadow Brook Hall is an historic house museum, cultural center and world-class events and wedding venue. Built by Matilda Dodge and Alfred Wilson, the Great Estate represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival style architecture in America, and is especially renowned for its superb craftsmanship, architectural detailing and grand scale. Meadow Brook is located on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich.

Springdale Golf Course is located at 316 Strathmore Road. Springdale was originally built in 1929 and is the shorter of the two City of Birmingham golf courses. Renovations to the course in 2000/2001 have made Springdale a picturesque, challenging nine hole golf course. New greens and tees, coupled with stream bank restoration of the Rouge River have greatly reduced erosion and aesthetically enhanced the course. Springdale offers many of the same amenities as Lincoln Hills. In addition, the park boasts a picnic pavilion, children’s playground and picnic facilities. The par for men and women is 34 and the course ranges from 2732 yards from the blue tees to 2196 yards from the red tees. The clubhouse offers power carts, pull carts, concessions and league play. The Birmingham Historical Museum & Park, established in May, 2001, features the 1822 John West Hunter House and the 1928 Allen House. These historic structures are linked by the History Plaza (dedicated in September, 2007), which serves as a gateway to the beautiful John West Hunter Historic Park.
